stoker question with a twist

Post by danz503 »

OK, this is my first post about this project. i am building/restomodding a 1948 ford F-1, frame is done, 1990 front suspension from XKJ Jaguar. engine back will be jeep. i plan on a 4.6 L with AW4 trans and Dana 35 rear. engine block is a 1990 4.0L bored .030 over to fit sealed power H802CP pistons. i will use the 258 crankshaft #3214723 with the connecting rods from that block. my question is what cam would be a good fit for this project. my hopes are that it will be a "fun" daily driver. any thoughts on this will be much appreciated!

It would be a spunky and fun I think. Certainly no race truck, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're going for or it would be an LS. Unique and more than enough power to burn the rear tires :)

Russ Pottenger's modified version of the CompCams 68-232-4 would certainly suit your needs.

I didn't notice the cam question. Definitely go with something bigger. I like Russ's spec'd cam mentioned as well. Stock valve springs in the head?
