Help with a 4.6 Recipe

Post by jrobeson18 »

I’ve got a 97 ZJ with 4.0. Going to stroke it.
the crank , Bosch 703 injectors, new head on order.
I’m wanting to shoot for 4.6 and run on 87 octane fuel.
I’m looking at the Comp Cams 68-232-4 camshaft
I’ve heard mixed opinions on the valve springs from Mopar performance, locks, retainers.
Also have no idea what rods/ rod size to use.

I will be using a mopar performance head gasket that I believe was at .043 compressed.

Your cylinder head specs will help to determine the majority of the key components in your stroker.

I stock a diverse list of pistons with multiple dish volume choices to help custom taylor a piston to your application that also can include a complementary upgraded connecting rod

The 68-232-4 cam is genuinely a pretty solid choice in most applications if accompanied with the correct valve spring.

Feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email and I'd be happy to email you information and answer any questions that you might have.

Thanks! When I get the head in I’ll have to see what specs it is. I assume for CC volume? I don’t particularly know what all the acronyms for building is.
CC
BTDC and such.

I know the head is a reman. From Advance auto since my current one has a crack in the coolant galley between cylinderss 3-4
