0331 TUPY valve help

Post by Shoalkat »

New to the forum but been stalking for awhile.
2004 TJ Rubicon
Building a 9.6:1 4.6L “I hope”
First Build of a Jeep stroker. Have built stock JEEPS and dirt track engines

Where I’m at and parts purchased
Scat internal balance crank
Scat Pro I beam Rods
ICON .030 Pistons.
“Scat Rotating Asy”
Pro Comp cam 68-231-4 and lifters
Mopar Springs P5249464
BBK 62mm TB
6 24# Ford Saleen Injectors
Mopar Head Gastket P4529242 0.043
Miling HV oil pump M167HVS
Cam bearings Clevite SH1980S

Have K@N cold air
Buying M.O.R.E motor mounts
Looking at JBA 1527SJT tube header

Looks like a I have to have it decked .020 and bored .030

Here’s where I’m floating around. I read and research a lot. At times I think I get to much info and start double guessing.

Ideal on head. 0331 TUPY
Knock off some of the casting imperfections but leave walls texture to a point “no porting” intake
No port but polish Ex.
Polish CC
Port match but not gasket match. Most likely nothing will need to be done.

Would like to take and put LS valves in.
1.91 stock to a 1.94
1.50 stock to a 1.60
OR keep it at the 1.50
This valve set up seems to be ok with the shrouding?

I can not find no info on stock 0331 4.0l valve sizes.
Read LS1 valves same length. No work has to be done? Maybe bore valve guide in head?
Going to different size valve will require cutting new valve seat

Anyone have part number on valve, retainers, keepers?

Read to use these keepers Mopar P4529218

Looking at these valves. If wrong; please point me in right direction.
Manley 10576-8 set 8 1.94
Manley 10577-8 set 8 1.50
Manley 10549-8 set 8 1.60

Any part numbers
Things I need to change
Info or tech on my thought process.

Please advise TIA

The 0331 responds well to a full exhaust port if properly done.

I use and recommend Manley's 11360 2.000, 11361 1.550
