Stroker injectors question

On the stroker builds it lists different injectors for different years. How does this work? Do I match it based on the head I am using or the year of the jeep cause of the pcm?

Also with the cams on the modified poor mans stroker, does the block year matter or only what year cam I use? Can I use a 96 cam in an 89 block? Does an aftermarket cam further the hp gain? Thanks.

You match injectors based on the wire connectors you have that plug in to the fuel injector unless you want to get different connectors and cut and splice to use whatever fuel injector you want. Also I dont know the year but fuel pressure is around 10lbs higher on maybe 96 and newer because the fuel pressure regulator is a 49 psi unit attached to the fuel pump instead of a 39 psi regulator with a return line on the older setups. Yes you can use a 96 cam in an 89 block. 1987-1998 blocks and cams interchange with each other. Besides the different valve springs factor. I think building a stroker using a stock cam is a complete waste of time and money personally. I would ratther run a 4.0 with a good cam than run a stroker with a stock cam. Read through people's build threads so many of them use a stock cam then they say how they wish the engine didn't top out at 4000 rpms lol.

Thanks for the info. I am about to buy an 89 xj for a stroker donor block and I am wondering if thats the right block to go with or if I should look for something newer.

To go in a 99 cherokee? That 1989 block is missing the engine bolt holes that the ignition coil bolts to that the 1991 and newer blocks have.

2005 and 2006 Wranglers have a different higher pressure fuel pump from earlier years, this is why LS1 injectors work well for those two years.

So what you guys use for injectors on a 2002 Wrangler with a mildly built 4.6?
I would like to run pump gas.

ok im confused.... I have been told to use 24# injectors..... doing a 2004 4.7 with the 42RLE auto trans and 5.13 gears on 35's....

mostly street driven and would like some retained fuel economy if possible. Need more input please....

I see here people are posting 28 - 30 #

I also dont want to have to splice in a new connector either... so can anyone help a little more?

Going by Cheromaniac's information (and what I've read elsewhere), you should probably be good with the "Bosch 0280155784 injectors for '96-'04 engines".

Saying "Ford 24lb" injectors is miss leading, as there are Ford injectors with 24lb flow at different fuel pressures. The equivalent "Ford 24lb" injectors for the Bosh '784 injectors appear to be these: https://www.fiveomotorsport.com/24lbs-j ... er-4.6-4.7. If my current Bosch '703 injectors ever need to be replaced, I'm going to try those in the link.

Also keep in mind up to 98 EV1 connectors are used, 99 up uses EV6
