Ok, that sounds great Russ! I'd also like to pick up the 68-235-4 cam on 114° lobe separation angle from you and did you say you make a spacer for the crankshaft snout as Well?

Awe man Russ. Now that I'm almost done with my build, i wish that i had gone with forged pistons instead of these SEALED POWER PISTONS (P/N: 677AP+.030)

Dang.

I've been kind of studying this post the last couple days but haven't really noticed any mention of this being done on a WJ.
Is it still possible in this model? Would really like a bit more passing power on the highway, maybe with a little room for some low boost (6-8 PSI, small turbo. Supercharger is not even on my mind) with some decent MPGs.

It's possible on any Jeep model that originally came with a 4.0L I6.

Is there anything special I'd need to do with the crank being that I have the 42RE trans? I know with the AW4 it would need a bit of modification.

I don't know the answer to that. You'd probably have to put the 232 and 4.0 cranks side by side to see the differences.

Hello all.

Almost done with my stroker here and am wondering:

I have an extra 1999 Cherokee wiring harness and am wondering if it would be worth the pain in the ass if I swap the obd2 into my 92 Comanche? Any performance gain? Also on this 4.2 mini stroker would I gain anything by upgrading to 1:7 rockers, or if I’d just be wasting money. Please advise, thank you!

Unless you've ported the head and upgraded the valve springs, you won't see any benefit from 1.7 ratio rockers on a 68-235-4 cam that already has a generous amount of valve lift.
As for swapping the OBD II wiring harness and ECU into your '92 Comanche, the biggest benefit will be that the ECU can be custom tuned to improve performance, drivability, and fuel economy.

Ok, thank you!

My head is extensively ported and polished so that's exciting.

My real question I guess is that is there enough room, piston to valve clearance wise? My piston are slightly out of the hole and quench is at .030 so basically the head gasket thickness.

Thanks for the reply.

Fortunately piston to valve clearance isn’t a problem with our Jeep engines. That’s one of the reasons why the Pistons don’t come with valve pockets

Along with the 1.7:1, I also stock 1.65:1 ratio’s that Harland Sharp builds for me on a custom basis for the same price as the OEM 1.6:1 ratio and 1.7:1

Your fuel system runs at a fuel pressure of 39psi. If you're aiming at 260-270hp you're going to need injectors that flow 26-27lb/hr at whatever fuel pressure you're going to run.
