Since my rebuild is nearing its end and I really don't want to do it again because of improper oil selection...The Oil Thread is born.
I've got the crankcase full of Delo400 15w40 for the initial start-up and enough to change the oil after that but am still a little unsure of which oil to use for the long haul.
Joe Gibbs Racing Oil is loaded with zinc, but it's a bit pricey.
Diesel oil with ZDDP? I used to use rotella but no more ZDDP, Stick with Delo?
Standard dino oil with an additive like MOA? FWIW, BG MOA runs about $9 a can.
Synthetic isn't an option, seen to many manufactures of aftermarket components recommend staying away from it.
So what to use?

Re: The Oil Thread
I just bought a case of the Brad Penn SAE-30 break-in oil. I'll use a cheaper oil and filter(we found a use for the F-bomb) for the cam break-in and use the the Brad Penn for the first two rounds.
