New and interested in a stroker

Post by tonybeirut »

Hi guys this is my 1st post here.
I'm in Beirut/Lebanon and my 1994 XJ became heavy after all the parts i top it with so a stroked crate engine is my next thing to buy and ship from the US.
After contacting some builders i still need advises which crate engine to buy (max HP & TQ i can get) and from who (builders/companies) without the hassle of tuning , maping, dyno testing, swaping too many parts/components.

As you can tell i'm a newbie so details and advises are needed .
Thank you
Tony

The cost of a crate motor plus shipping will be prohibitive so your best bet will be to buy a decent junkyard 4.0 motor and build that up into a modified poor man's stroker (see my recipes). Russ Pottenger can supply you with connecting rods/pistons/rings, and you could buy a 258 crank in ebay from a seller in Turkey so shipping cost won't be too high.

You could bid on this 258 crankshaft but check with the seller if he/she is willing to ship internationally:
