I have sped up my stroker project after my engine started making bad noises. It started out as a tick, but now it sounds like a little Dude in there beating stuff with a hammer...It's ugly souding !!! It doesn't do it all the time, but when it does, OUCH! it sounds bad. 108,000 miles...still has good oil pressure.
I have read so much about computer/electrical problems (OBDI AND OBDII) after strokers have been installed. Has anyone NOT had any problems after installing a stroker? I am getting concerned because I am HOPING to swap out my engine and get running ASAP. My Jeep is my daily driver(2003 TJ). Any pointers on what I need to do to avoid problems?

Re: Computer problems
Funny how these things go, I've read very few computer related problems... Kinda having a hard time thinking of someone who did off hand. If someone asked me, I'd say there aren't many... Now Ping is a common problem I notice people talking about often but I wouldn't lump that in as a computer problem.
To answer the specific question both the strokers I've done have used factory OBD1 ECU's harness' and sensors' and never ran into computer related problems...

Re: Computer problems
I haven't had any problems with the PCM in my 2000 XJ. It was fine with the previous stroker + a piggy back. Now I have a problem, but I think its a bad sensor or fuel pump.

Re: Computer problems
I can agree with 1bolt, i don't recall reading too many electrical stroker problems or computers that didn't work with them.
When i dropped mine it, i did have a faulty TPS sensor which gave me problems but i didn't expect it to be PERFECT LOL

Re: Computer problems
Yeah now Sensor related problems there have been plenty of those, CPS' and Cam sensors especially... maybe that's what the OP was meaning?
