After buying 2 belts, i backed the adjuster all the way off and wrapped a peice of rope around the pulleys and measured how long it was. I then found a website that had the length of different belts and just picked the closest one

Sorry to clarify my Jeep is a 92 XJ and the parts dept at my job is closed as well as the parts store we deal with so I need a number or application to goto Advance or AutoZone with since the people in the stores here do not seem to know how to look anything up any other way.

My belt wound up being 95", and i just picked the closest "gator back" goodyear belt i could find since i found a listing of 6 rib gatorback belts and their effective lenghts. Autozone had them in stock.

Use a piece of string/twine/rope as i mentioned above, find out how long the belt needs to be, and then go to http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch ... toview=sku and find the belt closest to what you need. Call your local autoparts thats open on a sunday, and give them the goodyear part number.

Did you also swap in the 96+ power steering pump, bracket, and idler pulley, then remove your original idler pulley? That's what I did on my 91. If so, you'll need a 99+ XJ serpentine belt.

You know whats funny? Mgardiner1 said he ended up with a 95" belt and he basically is running the same stuff as me yet it still took me 3 trips plus my dad 2 trips to the parts store to get the right belt.
