Now what about bore size SilverXJ? Is it 4 inches, or is it less?

What I don't get is the one I got from the set is 0.048" uncompressed, measured in the thinnest part, and not 0.051. Maybe it's a Felpro. Or my caliper could be wrong.
Yes, the NEW MP gasket is MLS

A few tenths? You do realize that .041", the uncompressed thickness is less that a tenth?

SilverXJ wrote:The one I ordered is P4529242, which is the Mopar Performance one, alone. The stock size, .051" is 53020754AB. The 53010587AA appears to be a stock MLS replacement.
I just rechecked the number on the gasket that I ordered as the P4529242... however the PN on that gasket ITSELF is 53010587AA... The number on the sealed package it came in is P4529242... It has a bore of 4.001" and a uncompressed thickness (not the blue coated area) of .041"

Now, the old MP gasket, aka VR 5713, the composite gasket is .047" outside the fire rings. The fire rings are .053" thick.

From what I found the 4529245 kit does include the MP gasket.

My P4529245 gasket set turned out to be a Fel-Pro kit with the .051" gasket and cork valve cover and oil-pan gaskets(boo). I ended up buying the nicer Fel-pro rubber gaskets. All this talk about the new P4529245 HG being .041" or .038" is tempting me to to buy it and get my quench down to around .050". I'd have to buy new head bolts(this is the 2ndX), and then I'd have to advance the cam, and then. . .

I called Summit Racing today. They gave me the compressed thickness for the composite (old) version of the MP gasket, which is listed on their site. I then called Mopar Performance and they are unable to give me any data because it is an OEM gasket. The gasket number the MP guy had on hand was actually different from the one I have. He was still unable to help me with the current gasket I have. What he was able to tell me is that it is for a 03-04 WJ and 03-06 TJ 4.0. I then called my dealer which had no further information for me. The FSM for the vehicles don't even list the thickness. So, the only other option is to install it and compress it or try calling Felpro or Victor Reinz and see if they made the gasket and ask them.

What I will do is order the OEM upper(4636982) and lower(4740008) gasket sets, wich I believe are one-piece gasket oil pan and rubber gasket for valve cover, for a '93 block. I'll check what HG I get, and if it's not the one, I'll further order the 53010587AA .

I'm trying to return the P4529245 set, I hope I'll get my money back. I'm waiting for a phone call about this.

BTW, the intake/exhaust gasket I got with the MP set don't even seem to match my head, especially the exhaust ports.

And about your HG Silver, 0.041" makes sense to me now : the thiner metal part won't compress, the rest will.
