Optimal head gasket thickness for poor man's...

Putting together my final parts order to complete my 4.5L poor mans stroker. I'll be running 4.2 crank & rods with 825CP pistons at standard deck height. I've noticed that Cometic offers multiple thicknesses of MLS head gaskets. Anyone have any input on optimal thickness to find the happy medium between acceptable quench and compression? I know due to the combo, neither will be perfect and I already plan on running 93 in her. Any advice is appreciated

Assuming you haven’t decked the block and the cylinder head isn’t less then 56cc a .043 Victor Reinz should work fine.

The Victor Reinz 0.043" head gasket will leave the quench height at ~0.081" and the SCR at ~9.6:1. Not ideal but you should even be able to run 91 octane.

Option “B” is if you’re willing to zero deck the block is to upgrade to one of my CNC modified 2229 Silvolite 24cc pistons.
That would put you around 9.5:1 with a much better quench.
This would improve the torque and at the same time potentially allow you to run a lower octane fuel.
