I received all of my components back from the machine shop and am assembling my stroker. I have the crank installed and am now installing my pistons. The machine shop installed my rods onto the piston pin and put the caps on with the new bolts. I removed the nuts and am now attempting to remove the caps, but omfg they will not come off. Is there something I am missing. I do not want to jack up the bolts or the face by forcing it. Am I wrong in assuming that they should just come apart? Help?
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Connecting Rod Cap Removal
got a vice and a piece of wood or metal rod? clamp the rod horizontally in the vice (put a rag over it if its metal), put the connecting rod over the clamped rod, and use a rubber mallet to hit on the threaded ends of the connecting rod bolts. if the bolts come loose before the cap comes off, then something is wrong.

Re: Connecting Rod Cap Removal
I have a history of breaking stuff when applying too much force. Thanks for the advice though. I took them back to the machine shop and they kindly removed them for me.
Thanks again,
Jason
