This is the friend garage the 4.6 stroker was built in, I had to look at this everytime
I was there. This CJ-5 is special as there was only 1149 of them built, it also was the
first year in which AMC use the Buick 225 V-6 engine in the CJ's. The owner Karl has
updated a few items, see the list below.
Power brakes-1989 XJ, with hydraulic e-brake
Electric fan-variable speed
Holley carb-forget the model
After market heater-OEM heater worked best in the summer
New gauges, switches, wiring harness-he's an electrician at Paccar
Tilt steering column- out of a GM van
Extra fuel tank-under drivers seat
Original stock wheels-from California $
A/T-replaced prior to purchase 10+ years ago
This is not to mention what came stock on this MKIV, again see below:
D-20 front axel
D-60 rear axel
Winch bumper with 12,000# winch powered by PTO twin sticks
Chrome-window & hood hinges, interior-grab bar, and all nut & bolts
This would be my reason to get a CJ.
