Timing chain pics. If you look at the silent link type, the wear is on the tips of the teeth it does not fully engage. The roller type rides in the valley in between the teeth, seems much stronger. A double roller rides the same as the single roller but with two rows of thinner teeth. Is the single roller stronger ? I don't know, but I believe it is much stronger than the silent link type.
ZAZ, nice engine build, sorry I junked up you post with this timing chain stuff.

everything is going in my 97 cherokee country.

After the motor is broke in I will start working on the turbo setup and swappin in a beefier rear end with upgraded axles, 3.73 gears and a posi or locker.

Im gonna run the tranny till it craps out, which it will probably last until I have the turbo on.

I rebuilt the tranny in my 93 Yukon with some high end clutches, did some valve body modifications, billet servo, 13 vane pump, upgrades sprags, upgraded boost valve. And the springs that help "soften" shifting were replaced with washers so no more soft, mushy shiftinng. It hammers into every gear whether you are at light throttle or WOT. Tranny has been going 4 yrs strong and towed plenty of stuff.

So I may just rebuild the jeep tranny myself since I had good luck with the 4L60E in my yukon.

I like the connecting rods! What's the specs on those, such as, length, end diameters, and weight if you have it? I noticed they don't have the side, oil squirt holes will that be an issue?

6.125" long....got them from 505 performance. www.rpmmaxx.com are who make the rods. Not sure about weight. They were all weight matched at 505 before they sent them to me. They are standard size... not sure of the exact dimension but its the stock size.

Those rods are nice. I wish I had gone that route. I have almost $200 into my stock rods with resizing, shot peening and ARP rod bolts. Then I have my time to beam polish and weight balance. Not worth the savings of $100 to have weaker rods. I would bet they are more accurate in length also, the stock rods seem to vary in length a little.

Are those rods turned blue from heating them for pressed pins?

I honed out my stock rods and ran pin buttons.
ARP bolts is all the stock rod need.

How much power are you looking to get?
