New oil pump priming?
I put in a new oil pump in my stroker along with new rod bearings, but that's it. Do I have to prime the new pump using the drill method? Oe is there another way to prime it like using the starter so that I don't have to remove the dizzy, or is that not ideal?

Generally the idea is to run the pump with a drill so that you can be sure oil has fully circulated before you start the engine and have friction occurring. Using the starter would have parts rubbing together with only assembly lube. Also in the event that your oil pump has trouble picking up prime, you would be running your engine dry possibly without knowing

Thanks, I ended up priming it with a drill. Made my drill smoke after the pump started to pick up oil haha.
